For the popcorn

  • 1/3 cup unpopped popcorn kernels
  • 2 tablespoons oil

  • Use a store-bought plain microwave popcorn bag
  • Use a store-bought plain popcorn snack

For the seasoning:

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder start with a pinch and add more to taste
  • Zest of 1 lime
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt or to taste

Instructions

  • Use your favorite method to make popcorn. You can use an air popper, stovetop method, microwave popcorn maker, or even a plain store-bought popcorn bag. If using popcorn kernels, pop them until most of the kernels have opened and you have a big bowl of fluffy popcorn ready for seasoning.
  • While the popcorn is still warm, mix the olive oil, smoked paprika, chili powder (optional), lime zest, and salt in a small bowl. The warm popcorn helps the seasoning stick and ensures every bite is packed with flavor.
  • Place the warm popcorn in a large bowl and drizzle the seasoned oil over it. Toss well, making sure the popcorn is evenly coated. Take your time here — the more you toss, the better the flavor distribution.
  • Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed. Serve immediately or store it for your next snack break.
  • Store it in a reusable airtight container or silicone snack bag for up to 3 days.
